    About the role#

    Kiewit is hiring Field Engineer Interns for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position working within our transportation construction operations. You will gain experience across both office and field activities, supporting projects that require high levels of technical and logistical skill. You will report to a Field Engineer or Project Engineer and work directly with crews and office staff.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage shop drawings and submittals.
    • Assist with project schedules and take offs.
    • Handle pay requests and contract changes.
    • Maintain project documentation.
    • Coordinate with field crews and office personnel.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or construction management.
    • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Valid driver's license.
    • Strong work ethic and willingness to work more than 40 hours per week.
    • Ability to travel and relocate as business requires.
    • Capacity to access all areas of a construction site in various climates and environments.
    • Commitment to safety, ethics, and integrity.
    • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills.
    • Experience with leadership in some capacity.
    • Infrastructure or heavy civil project experience is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Locations: Dallas, TX; California; Oregon; and Washington, DC. Final assignment locations are determined closer to the start date.
