    About the role#

    Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for an internship in our Durham, North Carolina office. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work on pre-construction design, planning, and permitting for a variety of projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Use technical software to analyze, produce, and quality-check deliverables for clients.
    • Contribute to design, planning, and analysis for projects of varying size and scope.
    • Solve problems and assist project managers with daily tasks.
    • Work with different disciplines to help realize client goals for the built environment.
    • Learn federal, state, and local regulations alongside company procedures and standards.
    • Gain experience with discipline-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited bachelor or master degree program.
    • Majors accepted include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.

    • Location: Durham, North Carolina.
    • This position is on-site and full-time.
    • The internship term is rolling.
