    About the role#

    Kimley-Horn is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for our Arlington, Virginia office. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work with project managers and teams to support engineering design and planning projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Use technical software to analyze, produce, and quality-check project deliverables.
    • Assist with pre-construction design, planning, and permitting tasks.
    • Solve engineering problems and collaborate with different disciplines to meet client goals.
    • Learn project standards, client practices, and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
    • Gain experience with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree from an ABET accredited program.
    • Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, as well as Engineering Technology.
    • Ability to work with technical software programs.
    • Understanding of engineering regulations and project delivery processes.

    • Location: Arlington, Virginia.
    • This position is on-site.
    • Compensation: $31 to $32 per hour.
    • This is a paid internship.
