About the role#
Kimley-Horn is hiring Civil Engineering Interns for our Dallas, Texas office for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will work directly with project managers and cross-functional teams to support civil engineering projects from the planning phase through pre-construction.
What you'll do#
- Use technical software to analyze, create, and quality check project deliverables.
- Assist with civil engineering design, planning, permitting, and analysis for projects of varying sizes.
- Solve engineering problems alongside project managers.
- Learn and apply federal, state, and local regulations plus company standards.
- Gain experience with discipline-specific software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor or Master degree program.
- Major in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or an Engineering Technology degree.
