About the role#
Labcorp is seeking an Internal Audit Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work within our Internal Audit Department to support audit engagements and evaluate internal controls across the organization. This role offers exposure to operational, financial, regulatory, and business risks while providing experience with data analysis to identify process improvements.
What you'll do#
- Communicate professionally with the Internal Audit Department and various process owners.
- Contribute to audit engagements and work as part of a team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls.
- Identify potential gaps and opportunities to improve the internal control structure.
- Perform data analysis to summarize and present findings from large data sets.
- Verify that processes effectively manage business, financial, regulatory, and operational risks.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the department.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or Excel Power Query.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for team and stakeholder communication.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship running from June 1, 2027, to August 13, 2027.
- The role is based in Burlington or Durham, North Carolina.
- You will work a hybrid schedule, 40 hours per week.
- Please note that this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
