About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Melbourne, Florida. You will work on-site with the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems team. The role provides hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with daily assignments and gain familiarity with company methods and programs.
- Perform testing in lab environments or through outdoor field testing.
- Conduct imaging analysis under supervision.
- Document requirements, verification plans, and test results.
- Provide regular progress reports and complete tasks on schedule.
- Assist in developing plant layouts, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
- Coordinate maintenance projects as needed.
- Support and reinforce the mission and culture of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program.
- Completion of at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems and work effectively in teams or independently.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must hold an active DOD security clearance or have the ability to obtain one.
- Familiarity with Matlab and lab equipment is preferred.
