About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Melbourne, Florida. You will work on-site for 12 to 14 weeks, following a 9/80 schedule. You will collaborate with experienced staff in the Electro-Optical and Infrared Systems line of business to gain hands-on experience in quality engineering.
What you'll do#
- Collect and review documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Support quality engineering activities for multiple programs under the guidance of engineers.
- Assist with the incoming inspection of purchased materials.
- Gather and analyze data to help the Quality Engineering team.
- Complete technical projects and perform various tasks to learn about engineering methods and practices.
- Support and communicate the mission and values of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or better.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous internship or co-op experience, including professional, community, or extracurricular activities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance.
