About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Summer 2027 internship based in Melbourne, Florida. You will work within the Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business, supporting the development and manufacturing of infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers and airborne platforms. This 12-14 week program provides hands-on experience through a variety of engineering assignments.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with daily engineering tasks and projects.
- Conduct testing in lab environments or through outdoor field testing.
- Perform imaging analysis under direct supervision.
- Document requirements, verification plans, and test results.
- Report on project progress and status regularly.
- Help develop plant layouts, manufacturing methods, and process improvements.
- Coordinate maintenance projects as needed.
- Support and reinforce the mission and culture of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate Engineering program (Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Completion of at least 2 years of college with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- U.S. Citizenship status.
- Ability to obtain or maintain an active DOD security clearance.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
- Experience using lab equipment and familiarity with Matlab.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
