About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Dallas, Texas. You will work within the Electro Optical Infrared Systems line of business, which develops and manufactures infrared and electro-optical solutions for defense platforms. You will gain hands-on experience by collaborating with experienced staff and participating in projects from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Audit processes and conduct experiments in a Class 100 cleanroom or laboratory.
- Perform inspections using a laboratory microscope.
- Handle flammable, corrosive, and caustic chemicals safely.
- Update documentation and present findings to the Change Control Board.
- Compile, analyze, and present technical data.
- Manage and organize data using database applications.
- Perform administrative duties, including drafting documents and preparing routine reports.
- Assist in coordinating meetings, conferences, and team projects.
- Interact professionally with others in person and over the phone.
- Follow all procedures for the care and use of equipment and materials.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, or Computer Science.
- Completion of at least 2 years of college, with Junior or Senior standing at the time of application.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain an active DOD security clearance.
- Coding experience in languages such as Java, C#, Python, or VB is a plus.
