About the role#
This is a paid culinary externship based in Chicago. You will gain practical experience by working in a restaurant kitchen. The program lasts between 10 and 16 weeks. You will be placed in a specific restaurant concept and hourly role that matches your current skill level.
What you'll do#
- Perform the essential functions of your assigned hourly role, such as cooking, serving, or supporting kitchen operations.
- Safely operate all necessary tools and equipment.
- Communicate effectively to follow written and spoken directions.
- Multitask in a busy environment.
- Work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Move and lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for your entire shift.
What you'll need#
- One full year of practical experience OR current enrollment in a culinary program.
- Ability to work in confined spaces with variable noise and temperature levels.
- Experience with French or Italian cuisine is a plus.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Pay: $17.05 to $20.00 per hour.
- Term: Rolling, 10 to 16 weeks.
- Note: Externs are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
