About the role#
As a Quality Engineering Co-op, you will apply your computer science skills to maintain and improve our IoT sensor network. You will work closely with our Quality Lead to ensure our sensors provide reliable data to utility customers. This role focuses on reliability engineering, data analysis, and process improvement within our technical teams.
What you'll do#
- Build automated health monitoring tools and write Python scripts to parse telemetry logs.
- Monitor daily device health, conduct uptime checks, and flag anomalies at scale.
- Lead weekly device health syncs and manage issue tracking through Jira.
- Coordinate site visit escalations when field interventions are necessary.
- Query device telemetry data using SQL to perform investigative analyses.
- Build dashboards to support data-driven decisions regarding device reliability.
- Collaborate with Hardware Engineering and Operations teams to investigate issues and implement corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Experience with Python or SQL through coursework or projects.
- Comfort writing scripts to automate tasks or query datasets.
- Strong attention to detail when monitoring systems and documenting findings.
- Project management skills to track multiple issues and drive resolution.
- Initiative and curiosity to dig into technical problems.
- Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position located in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role is hybrid, requiring 2-4 days per week in our Charlestown headquarters.
- We are seeking candidates for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
