About the role#
As a Perception Intern at Mach9, you will contribute to projects critical to the development of our core products. You will work with advanced 2D image and 3D point cloud models. Your work will focus on detecting urban and roadway features like traffic lights, utility poles, curbs, and painted road markings.
What you'll do#
- Develop an initial prototype to detect paint lines and curbs on roadways.
- Bring perception models into a real-time detection domain, balancing accuracy and speed to run on edge mapping hardware.
- Assist in the development and tuning of machine learning models to improve performance.
What you'll need#
- Strong programming fundamentals in Python.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Jax.
- Ability to implement and iterate on heuristic or geometry-based algorithms quickly.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering.
- A keen interest in applying machine learning to solve real-world problems.
