About the role#
McClure Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our 8-month Co-Op program. You will work on projects through both design and construction phases while learning engineering calculations and building relationships with industry professionals.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex problems related to design and construction.
- Perform energy, load, airflow, and pressure drop calculations.
- Size equipment and complete system design and layout.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical drafters to produce construction documents.
- Research and select equipment based on project needs.
- Conduct field inspections to verify site conditions.
- Communicate with project stakeholders and team members.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a B.S. program for Mechanical Engineering at an ABET accredited institution.
- Completion of your sophomore or junior year.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and exercise judgment.

- This position is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- The term is rolling.
- This is a paid position.
- We do not offer sponsorship.
- You will spend about 90% of your time in the office and 10% at project or construction sites. We provide all necessary personal protective equipment for site visits.
