About the role#
The Software Engineering Internship is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027. Interns work with teams across software development, AI and data science, cloud, quality, DevOps, systems, testing, and firmware engineering. You will contribute to projects that support our medical technology goals.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software and utility components.
- Support the development and execution of cloud strategy, including planning and architecture maintenance.
- Evaluate software systems activities such as requirements, design, and validation.
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis to understand software domains and interfaces.
- Develop and communicate descriptive and predictive insights using integrated software algorithms.
- Create and execute test plans to detect issues in applications and systems.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the internship.
- Experience with programming languages or technical tools such as C++, Java, Python, or SQL.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Please note that Medtronic does not provide sponsorship for this internship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role requiring a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
- Opportunities are available in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas.
