About the role#
As an Advanced Radiology Intern at Mercy, you will work under the supervision of licensed Radiologic Technologists, imaging managers, and radiologists. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in diagnostic radiology and radiographic imaging. You will provide personalized care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatric patients, while maintaining quality standards.
What you'll do#
- Perform diagnostic radiology and radiographic imaging procedures.
- Obtain optimal image quality for all procedures.
- Provide care that respects the worth and dignity of every patient.
- Ensure all work meets patient care quality standards.
- Perform duties consistent with the mission and values of Mercy.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in the second year of a nationally accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to manipulate radiology equipment and select exposure factors.
- Physical capability to lift, move, and transport patients, as well as stand and walk for the duration of shifts.
- Ability to recognize emergency situations and manage a heavy daily workload.
