About the role#
The Graduate Program in Education at Messiah University is hiring a Student Office Assistant for the 2026-27 academic year. This position provides administrative support to faculty and staff. You will work up to 10 hours per week at a rate of $8.00 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Handle general office tasks including filing, opening mail, and typing correspondence.
- Manage and organize project data.
- Create and update spreadsheets, documents, tables, and presentations using Microsoft Office.
- Prepare and proofread resources, program documents, and orientation modules.
- Assist with event preparation.
- Maintain the department social media profiles.
- Act as a professional representative of the department when communicating with constituents.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
What you'll need#
- Experience with computer systems and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong editing and proofreading abilities.
- Accuracy in data management and high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- An independent work ethic and a willingness to learn new software.
- Skills in managing social media.
