About the role#
Messiah University is hiring a student technical assistant to manage film projection at Parmer Cinema. This is a paid, on-site role for Summer 2026. You will work independently to ensure the technical success of film screenings and events.
What you'll do#
- Handle all technical aspects of film projection, including splicing, threading, and crossovers.
- Run PowerPoint presentations before each film starts.
- Make announcements to the audience when necessary.
- Communicate clearly with students and employees.
- Maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule.
What you'll need#
- An outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
- Comfort working with technical equipment and a willingness to learn new multimedia technologies.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently without supervision.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Majors in Communications, Media Studies, Art, or Computer Science are preferred.
