About the role#
Milliken & Company is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern for the Dewey Plant. This role offers hands-on experience in a batch chemical manufacturing facility. You will work on projects focused on continuous improvement, process development, and manufacturing efficiency. You will be paired with a management sponsor for mentorship throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Manage assigned projects using project management skills.
- Analyze technical problems and implement solutions using critical thinking and focused improvement methods.
- Identify unique ways to improve quality and reduce costs.
- Prepare diagrams, charts, and tables to document your findings and recommendations.
- Participate in the plant Safety Process and Program.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet location goals.
What you'll need#
- Rising Junior or Senior status working toward a BS degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work full-time from late May until early August.
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and navigate the plant environment, including stairs and ladders.

- Location: South Carolina, United States.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8 AM to 5 PM.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
