About the role#
Encapsys, a part of Milliken & Company, is hiring interns and co-ops for the 2027 calendar year. You will join our team in Appleton, Wisconsin, to work on research and development projects within the specialty chemicals industry. You will be assigned a mentor to provide guidance as you contribute to projects with tangible business impacts. This is a paid position that includes a housing allowance where applicable and paid time off.
What you'll do#
- Design, plan, conduct, and analyze laboratory experiments.
- Partner with engineers and scientists on lab, pilot, or production experimental trials.
- Evaluate trial products.
- Produce written summary reports and presentations.
- Work on projects including new product developments, product line extensions, prototype development, and cost or quality improvement initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently earning a B.S. or M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Science/Engineering, or Biology/Microbiology.
- A minimum 3.00 GPA.
- The ability to work independently on projects and manage time across multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply scientific principles to designs.
- A collaborative mindset for working within a team environment.
