About the role#
Milliken & Company is hiring a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Intern for the Dewey Plant. This is a paid, full-time summer internship based on-site in Inman, South Carolina. You will work under the mentorship of experienced managers to support continuous improvement and manufacturing process development. The role involves 40 hours of work per week, typically from 8 AM to 5 PM.
What you'll do#
- Analyze technical problems and implement solutions using critical thinking and focused improvement methods.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the factors and conditions that impact plant processes and products.
- Prepare diagrams, charts, and tables to support your findings and project recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department leaders to achieve project goals.
- Participate in the plant safety process and program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a rising Junior or Senior in a Bachelor of Science program for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Availability for full-time work from late May through early August.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting, standing, moving throughout the plant, lifting up to 35 lbs, and using stairs or ladders.
