About the role#
The Wisconsin Herd is seeking a Community Relations Intern to support our public relations and community initiatives for the 2026-27 NBA G League season. This role involves a mix of office duties and game-day responsibilities, helping maintain the brand presence of the Milwaukee Bucks and the Wisconsin Herd. You will work at least 20 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the game schedule.
What you'll do#
- Implement community initiatives by coordinating visits and appearances.
- Manage theme jersey auctions, including creating and updating webpages.
- Process donation requests and assist with the 50/50 raffle.
- Research local events to identify opportunities for team activation.
- Serve as the team mascot handler during events.
- Build relationships with nonprofit partners through outbound telephone outreach.
- Support the Wisconsin Herd Pro Shop by tracking inventory, fulfilling orders, and processing sales.
- Monitor news coverage and share relevant stories with staff.
- Create and monitor gameday credentials.
- Assist the broadcast partner as needed and handle basic office tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as an upcoming junior or senior in a college or university.
- A degree focus in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or Sport Management.
- Ability to work all Wisconsin Herd home games, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask under deadlines.
- A solid understanding of basketball and game statistics.
- A positive attitude and the ability to react quickly to unpredictable situations.

- Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling term, 20+ hours per week, including game coverage.
