    About the role#

    The Internship and Work-Based Learning Program Manager supports high school students at Ida B. Wells High School in developing job-readiness skills and securing internships. This role focuses on helping students gain transferable experience for higher education and future careers. You will work on-site to implement programming for grades 9-12, using an equity-focused approach to help students navigate barriers to success.

    What you'll do#

    • Coordinate and deliver activities that help young adults prepare for a career or transition to postsecondary education.
    • Manage existing internship partnerships and develop new opportunities for students.
    • Place students in internship sites, providing necessary training and coaching support.
    • Provide barrier-removal assistance to students through community referrals and coordination with support service agencies.
    • Oversee the maintenance of all program records and collect student data for reports.
    • Collaborate with school staff, including the Community Schools Coordinator, CTE teachers, and PEERS teachers.
    • Maintain communication with caregivers, teachers, and counselors to support student progress.
    • Promote program opportunities through presentations and marketing materials.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor's degree (BA or BS).
    • 2-4 years of experience working with diverse youth in community and public school settings.
    • Demonstrated success in providing youth workforce development programming.
    • Experience working in communities of color with low-income populations and familiarity with the needs of undocumented youth.
    • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are required.
    • Familiarity with schools and community-based organizations.
    • Ability to obtain TB test clearance before hiring and current CPR certification (or attainment within 2 months of employment).

    Location & details#

    • This is a full-time, on-site position located in San Francisco, California.
    • The role requires some evening and weekend availability.
