About the role#
The Accounting Associate internship is a position within the Controllership team. You will participate in daily accounting and reporting processes, focusing on internal and external financial reporting controls. This is a rolling, paid internship based in Lake Mary, Florida. You must be available to work at least 25 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 40 hours during school breaks or summer. The minimum commitment is one year.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end close journal entries, including accruals, cash transfers, and prepaids.
- Support financial close and reporting activities for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flows.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Help create monthly and quarterly analytical reports, including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances.
- Document and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage active task lists and coordinate audit requests.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior or Senior in a four-year college or university.
- Pursuit of a bachelor degree in accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management.
- Commitment to maintaining honesty, integrity, and the protection of confidential information.
- Adherence to all company safety policies and procedures.
