About the role#
As a Co-op Accountant within our Assurance and Accounting team, you will support clients by providing financial information to help them make informed business decisions. You will work on a variety of engagements, gaining exposure to different aspects of financial reporting and advisory work.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Review financial documents and reports to investigate and correct discrepancies or irregularities.
- Work with the client engagement team to build and maintain relationships with client contacts.
- Propose new ideas and approaches to improve internal work processes.
What you'll need#
- Working toward or completion of a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, preferably with a major in finance or accounting.
- Progress toward meeting prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Experience with accounting and tax software is an asset.
- Previous office experience in an accounting setting is helpful.
- Background in customer or client service is considered an asset.
