About the role#
MNP is looking for a Co-op Accountant to join the Assurance and Accounting team. This is a full-time, paid position based in Dieppe, New Brunswick. You will work on-site as part of a team that provides financial information to help clients make business decisions.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in areas including audits, reviews, compilations, tax, and bookkeeping.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, including conducting inventory counts.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial entries and reports.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Create correspondence, client summaries, and technical reports to explain engagement findings.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are working toward the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is an asset.
