About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Accountant for the Assurance and Accounting team. This is a full-time, paid position based in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. You will work on-site as part of a team providing financial information and advisory services to clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage multiple files, set up new client accounts, and conduct inventory counts.
- Perform walk-throughs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and capital assets.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents.
- Draft technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence regarding engagement findings.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience, client service background, or experience with accounting and tax software are considered assets.
