About the role#
As a Co-op Accountant within our Assurance and Accounting team, you will support our clients by providing financial information that assists them in making informed business decisions. You will work alongside a team of professionals to address client needs and improve business practices.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply your knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
- Manage multiple client files simultaneously and set up files for new clients.
- Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
- Work with the client engagement team and maintain relationships with client contacts.
- Perform financial walk-throughs and review documentation for accuracy.
What you'll need#
- Working towards or have completed a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward or have completed the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in client or customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is considered an asset.
