About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op CPA Articling Student to join the Domestic Tax team in Calgary. This is a full-time, paid position for a four-month term beginning in September 2027. You will work directly with our professionals to deliver tax strategies and help clients meet their reporting requirements.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses.
- Research tax issues and determine their potential implications.
- Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns for various entities.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and the Canadian Income Tax Act.
- Review and correct financial discrepancies, prepare technical reports, and maintain flexibility to travel as needed.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are working toward the prerequisites required for admission into the CPA Professional Program.
- Previous tax or accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
