About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Student for the Assurance and Accounting team in Edmonton. This is a full-time, paid position for an eight-month term starting in January 2027. You will work on-site to provide financial information and support to clients.
What you'll do#
- Develop technical skills in audits, compilations, reviews, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting.
- Create correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries to outline engagement findings.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects at once.
- Perform walk-throughs for payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
What you'll need#
- Working towards or completion of a bachelor degree in business administration or commerce, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progress toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience with tax or accounting software is an asset.
- Customer or client service experience is an asset.
