About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Student for the Assurance and Accounting team in Kamloops, British Columbia. This full-time position runs from January 2028 through August 2028. You will work on-site to provide financial information and support to clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, tax, and bookkeeping.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital asset transactions.
- Assess audit evidence for expenses, revenues, and prepaid expenses.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial documents and entries.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple projects at once.
- Prepare technical reports, client summaries, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with engagement teams and maintain client relationships.
- Travel as necessary for client work.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in client or customer service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.

- Term: Winter 2028 (January to August).

- Salary: $42,000 to $46,000 annually.
