About the role#
MNP is hiring a Co-op Student for the Property Tax Services team in Calgary. This is a paid, full-time position available for Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms. You will join a team that manages tax strategies and monitors legislative changes to help clients maximize their real estate tax recovery.
What you'll do#
- Conduct real estate market studies.
- Determine real estate values using various appraisal methods.
- Liaise with municipalities, developers, landlords, tenants, and real estate brokers to collect information for property value assessments.
- Collect and update client information, including rent rolls and income or expense statements.
- Collaborate with the client engagement team on various projects.
- Assist in creating high-quality deliverables such as reports, presentations, proposals, and engagement letters.
- Travel as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or law.
- Understanding of real estate valuation for assessment purposes.
- Knowledge of current legislation and its impact on the taxation of commercial properties.
