About the role#
As an Assurance and Accounting Intern, you will work with our team to provide financial information and support to our clients. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027 based in Timmins, Ontario. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in compilations, reviews, audits, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Apply your knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards to client work.
- Set up files for new clients and manage multiple files at the same time.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Work with the client engagement team and build relationships with client contacts.
- Assess audit evidence and investigate discrepancies in financial documents.
- Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and client summaries.
What you'll need#
- You are working toward a bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- You are completing the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous accounting office experience is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
