About the role#
MNP is hiring an intern for our Assurance and Accounting team in Courtenay, British Columbia. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2028 term. You will work on-site and gain hands-on experience supporting our clients with financial reporting and business advisory needs.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports to summarize client status.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients for payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and capital asset transactions.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in financial entries and documents.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and build professional relationships with client contacts.
- Manage multiple client files and set up files for new businesses.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward the prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
- Previous office experience in accounting is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with tax and accounting software is an asset.
