About the role#
MNP is hiring an Intern or Co-op Student for the Assurance and Accounting team for the Winter 2028 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in Victoria, British Columbia. You will work with a team of professionals to provide financial information and support to clients.
What you'll do#
- Build technical skills in audits, reviews, compilations, bookkeeping, and tax.
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
- Conduct walk-throughs with clients regarding accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and capital asset transactions.
- Investigate and fix discrepancies in financial documents and reports.
- Collaborate with the engagement team and maintain professional relationships with client contacts.
- Apply knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and ASPE standards.
- Manage multiple client files and set up files for new businesses.
- Prepare technical reports and client summaries.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor degree in commerce or business administration, with a preference for accounting or finance majors.
- Progressing toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program.
- Previous office experience in an accounting role is an asset.
- Experience in customer or client service is an asset.
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software is an asset.
