About the role#
As an Environmental Protection Intern, you will work at our manufacturing site to support environmental compliance, sustainability, and operational goals. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial wastewater treatment and environmental systems. You will work alongside environmental professionals to monitor treatment processes, assess equipment, and contribute to compliance programs. This role offers the chance to apply your technical knowledge to real-world challenges while learning how environmental stewardship supports business operations.
What you'll do#
- Conduct environmental process analysis to identify improvement opportunities and optimize performance.
- Support wastewater treatment plant initiatives, including upgrades and long-term sustainability projects.
- Monitor and improve the reliability of critical environmental protection equipment.
- Participate in environmental compliance activities by reviewing programs and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate on waste management and resource conservation projects.
- Analyze operational data to develop recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across engineering, maintenance, and operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework before the internship begins.
- Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at the time of application and for at least one semester after the internship concludes.
- Strong interest in environmental compliance, sustainability, manufacturing operations, and industrial wastewater treatment.
- Ability to solve problems, analyze data, and communicate findings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Location & details#
- Location: Friendly, West Virginia.
- Term: Summer 2027 (10-12 weeks between May and August).
- Work Modality: On-site, full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
