About the role#
The Student Health Center at Montclair State University is hiring a temporary Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care. You will work with our clinical team to manage both administrative and clinical tasks. This position is ideal for students or recent graduates in Nursing, Health Administration, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Public Health.
What you'll do#
- Maintain patient flow and monitor for arrivals.
- Obtain vital signs and record them in patient medical records.
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
- Perform venipuncture procedures following clinical standards.
- Collect and process lab specimens.
- Restock, clean, and prepare medical exam rooms and the lab.
What you'll need#
- Completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- High school diploma.
- Six months of experience in a primary care setting is preferred.
- Experience working with young adults and diverse populations is a plus.

- Compensation: $20.00 to $23.00 per hour.
