About the role#
MORSE Corp is looking for a Mechanical Engineer Co-op to join our team in Cambridge. You will focus on designing, building, and flight testing unmanned aerial vehicle prototypes. This role involves working on aircraft designs, autonomous systems, and sensor integration. You will take ownership of projects from the initial concept through to final delivery.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, and flight test UAV prototypes.
- Use problem-solving skills to prototype and test new ideas quickly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software components.
- Communicate project status to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Own your projects from start to finish.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or BA program for Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a US security clearance.
- Experience applying first principles to solve complex problems.
- Familiarity with CAD programs like SolidWorks or Altium.
- A strong understanding of aircraft design, flight mechanics, and stability and control.
- Preferred experience includes work with unmanned aerial systems, flight controllers, power systems, and sensors.
- Preferred skills include prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, CNC machining, and laser cutting.
