About the role#
Murray Company is offering a Project Engineer Internship for Summer 2027. You will join the Operations group and report to project managers. This role provides hands-on experience across pre-construction, fabrication, and field installation for mechanical projects including HVAC, plumbing, and process piping.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating mechanical projects.
- Review designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Manage project documentation like submittals, RFIs, change orders, and reports.
- Visit project sites to monitor progress and ensure work meets specifications.
- Help prepare cost estimates and budgets.
- Aid in the implementation of quality control measures and safety protocols.
- Communicate with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to take initiative and work well within a team.
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship.
- Ability to lift 15 pounds, traverse uneven surfaces, and climb stairs on project sites.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Newbury Park, California, with travel to project sites in the Southern California area.
- Term: Summer 2027, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $26.00 per hour.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a pre-employment drug screening.
