    About the role#

    NAMI Chicago is looking for a Youth Engagement Intern to support our community outreach and youth programming. You will work under the guidance of our Senior Education and Engagement Specialist to develop resources and help improve the health and wellness of youth and their families across Chicago and the Cook County suburbs. This is an unpaid internship requiring 10 hours per week, with some evening or weekend availability required for events.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct research on youth mental health to help create culturally responsible content.
    • Co-facilitate learning sessions and support our youth programs.
    • Assist with program evaluation by developing and administering surveys.
    • Build and maintain partnerships with youth-serving organizations, particularly on the South and West sides of Chicago.
    • Collect data from community-based organizations to inform our youth advisory board.
    • Attend weekly engagement team meetings.
    • Complete administrative tasks related to youth programming.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing a graduate degree in psychology, social work, public health, education, or a related field. We may consider exceptional fourth-year undergraduate students.
    • You are fluent in both English and Spanish.
    • You have strong organizational skills and pay close attention to detail.
    • You have experience in community organizing, event planning, or school partnerships.
    • You are familiar with Chicago neighborhoods, specifically on the South and West sides.
    • You are eager to learn and work collaboratively.

    • This role is based at 224 W Hill St, Suite 410, Chicago, IL.
    • The position is on-site.
