    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience within the Behavioral Health team in Charleston. You will work closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. The role offers opportunities to observe various therapeutic areas to gain insight into the populations we serve. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services and case management.
    • Coordinate and monitor community-based services including mental health, medical, educational, and vocational support.
    • Travel to provide services while meeting established outcome thresholds.
    • Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure consistent progress.
    • Assist in family reunification and stabilization efforts.
    • Complete all required documentation and training on time.
    • Participate in weekly supervision.
    • Provide transportation for clients as needed.

    What you'll need#

    • Enrollment in a Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or university where an internship or field placement is a requirement.
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
    • Experience in direct service with youth and families is strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and software such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
    • Ability to remain objective, professional, flexible, and responsive.
    • Willingness to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
    • A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
