About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the Behavioral Health team in Greenville, South Carolina. You will work directly with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. The role offers the opportunity to observe various therapeutic areas to gain insight into the communities and clients served. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
- Manage cases and coordinate services including mental health, medical, educational, and vocational support.
- Travel to provide community-based services to youth and families.
- Assist in family reunification and stabilization efforts.
- Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
- Complete documentation and training in a timely manner.
- Provide transportation for clients as needed.
- Participate in weekly supervision sessions.
- Work toward meeting established outcomes thresholds.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or university.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a comparable human services field.
- Verification that this internship is a requirement of your academic program.
- Experience working in direct service with youth and families is preferred.
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, tablets, and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours.
- Capacity to remain objective, professional, flexible, and responsive.
- A valid driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and a good driving record.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
