About the role#
The Navy Federal Investment Services (NFIS) support team provides administrative support to phone operations, digital chat, Investment Advisors, and Financial Advisors. This 12-week summer internship program runs from May 2027 through August 2027. Interns will support existing team projects, contribute to process improvements, and gain a high-level understanding of wealth management and financial planning business processes.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members to understand the business process of financial services support.
- Conduct research of reference material to recommend and apply streamlined enhancements.
- Shadow support team members to provide feedback on process improvements.
- Assist leaders with data collection and analysis projects to improve current processes.
- Identify and track cross-project dependencies and impacts, communicate issues, and provide solutions.
- Collaborate with various levels of staff to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ensure confidentiality and safeguarding of records and information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Economics, Finance, Business, or a related field with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Experience using Microsoft Office products to create reports, data compilations, and presentations.
- Project management or coordination experience.
- Basic skill maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
- Basic skill interacting with staff, management, and members diplomatically and tactfully.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems.
- Resourceful and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
- Locations include San Diego, CA; Vienna, VA; and Pensacola, FL.
