About the role#
The Education Lending Products team manages the strategy, growth, and member experience of the Navy Federal Education Lending portfolio. As a Summer Associate, you will develop a business case and strategic recommendation for expanding product offerings. This includes evaluating student loan options for trade schools, certificate programs, or parent borrowers by analyzing market opportunities, financial impacts, and competitive positioning.
What you'll do#
- Conduct competitive and market research by monitoring industry trends and regulatory developments.
- Build business cases by translating research into financial assessments and executive-ready recommendations.
- Present data-driven insights to leadership and stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
- Manage strategic projects from concept through implementation, including defining scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and success measures.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Experience creating presentations, business cases, reports, or recommendations for leadership.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and build partnerships across cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of product development, consumer lending, financial services, or digital products is preferred.
- Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Operations Management are relevant to this role.
Location & details#
- This is a 12-week, full-time, paid internship program running from May 2027 to August 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Vienna, Virginia.
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET.
