    About the role#

    The Foreclosure Prevention Project provides legal representation and community education for homeowners facing foreclosure and other risks to homeownership. This project assists clients with foreclosure defense litigation, deed transfers, real estate contracts, closings, and short sale applications. This is a paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct intakes to assess potential client eligibility.
    • Draft motions for legal proceedings.
    • Assist with settlement conferences and court appearances.
    • Conduct in-depth legal research.
    • Assemble mortgage modification packets and other homeowner program applications.
    • Perform data entry and assist with the service of documents.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a current law student. Undergraduate applications are not considered.
    • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
    • A strong commitment to public interest law.
    • Superior communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities.
    • Professional presence and demeanor.
    • Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
