About the role#
This co-op position supports the Custom Design Marketing (CDM) team at Nidec Motor Corporation. You will gain exposure to the engineering behind our products and learn how it connects to product management, sales, and customer experience. This role is based on-site in St. Louis, Missouri.
What you'll do#
- Perform technical reviews and data entry for NEMA frame and above NEMA frame industrial motors.
- Assist the CDM team by matching consulting engineer specifications to our product offerings.
- Collect data for market analysis based on quotes and orders.
- Research, monitor, and post projects for the sales and CDM teams.
- Document and update quoting process SOPs by interviewing team members and shadowing workflows.
- Help maintain and update standard quoting templates.
- Assist in creating a tool to identify whether a motor can be quoted as stock, conversion, or ETO.
- Compare motor design standards, frame sizes, and terminology to update internal guides.
- Organize shared drives and centralize document control.
- Support the internal "Lessons Learned" newsletter by gathering feedback from project successes and customer complaints.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an engineering degree program (pre-engineering or entering the last two years of college).
- Majors in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Strong analytical skills and a technical inclination.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Curiosity and a proactive approach to investigating and resolving issues.
- Familiarity with electrical motor applications is preferred.
- Prior co-op or internship experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
