    About the role#

    This internship provides an opportunity to work within our substation engineering team. You will support engineering staff on projects to meet utility facility needs, gain exposure to industry operations, and participate in professional development activities. This is a full-time, 12-week program starting in May 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Evaluate, design, estimate, and manage projects for electric and gas facilities.
    • Collect and analyze data while reviewing existing records.
    • Create job order sketches using AutoCad.
    • Perform field measurements to support project requirements.
    • Assemble data to generate job order estimates.
    • Collaborate with team members and leaders on assigned tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET accredited four-year Electrical or Civil engineering program.
    • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week.
    • Proficiency with PC applications, specifically AutoCad, MS Excel, and Access.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    • Location: Merrillville, Indiana.
    • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a paid internship.
