    About the role#

    This is a 12-week summer internship program based in Columbus, Ohio, starting in May 2027. You will join the Operational Excellence Department to work under the guidance of continuous improvement staff. This role offers an opportunity to gain a broad overview of utility operations while building professional relationships across the organization.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with continuous improvement projects to meet departmental needs.
    • Evaluate and analyze opportunities for process improvement.
    • Standardize and document processes, including the use of Visio.
    • Provide project management support for tasks of varying complexity.
    • Collect and analyze data to address process challenges.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited, four-year engineering program (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Biomedical).
    • Completion of at least one year of undergraduate study.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site.
    • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
    • Strong analytical and communication skills.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • Residency within 50 miles of the Columbus reporting location.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

    • Compensation: Paid internship ($18.80 - $31.70 per hour).
