About the role#
We are hiring a Production Engineering Co-op to work at our Smyrna, Tennessee facility. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position. You will support our engineering teams during production trials and ongoing manufacturing operations.
What you'll do#
- Support Production Engineers in developing and optimizing assembly sequences and operator work instructions.
- Assist in the creation, validation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance documentation, including fastening torque specifications and electrical connections.
- Collect, analyze, and track critical measurement point data to identify trends.
- Partner with engineers to implement production aids and equipment that improve safety, quality, and ergonomics.
- Use AutoCAD and Inventor to create technical drawings.
- Align Bills of Material with operator work instructions.
- Support part and process change management activities.
- Participate in Virtual Reality CAD studies to evaluate equipment layouts and ergonomic factors.
- Assist with 3D modeling, prototyping, and the creation of 3D-printed components.
- Maintain Process Control Charts and Product Quality Assurance Charts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic standing of Sophomore level or higher.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Ability to perform work on-site at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
