About the role#
The Student Athlete Tutor supports student academic achievement by reinforcing classroom instruction. You will help students grasp course concepts and build effective learning habits. This role requires maintaining a professional, supportive environment while following all institutional policies on academic integrity and confidentiality.
What you'll do#
- Provide subject-specific tutoring to reinforce classroom instruction and improve student understanding.
- Help students develop effective study strategies, time management, and organizational skills.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and encourage self-assessment.
- Assist with writing assignments, proper citation, and use of academic resources.
- Connect students with appropriate academic support services when needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current student at NWCC.
- Strong communication skills.
- A friendly, patient, and interested attitude.
- Support for a facilitative, conversational, and inquiry-based approach to consultations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and function well in a team environment.
- Productivity with minimal supervision and a good attendance record.

- This is a full-time, unpaid position with a rolling term.
