About the role#
NXP is hiring an Electronic Repair Intern for Summer 2027. You will work within an electronic repair facility that supports manufacturing equipment. This role focuses on the repair, modification, and verification of sub components for complex automatic and logic-controlled electronic or electro-mechanical systems.
What you'll do#
- Perform complex analysis of major malfunctions down to the component level.
- Use advanced diagnostic techniques to identify issues.
- Improvise circuits or equipment to meet specific needs.
- Calibrate instrumentation traceable to the National Bureau of Standards.
- Set up, operate, and adjust complex testing equipment.
- Work independently on assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on electronics.
- Fundamental knowledge of AC and DC electronics, including analog, digital, and RF circuits.
- High level of mechanical ability, including knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and fluidics.
- Ability to work on projects without supervision.
- Strong root cause problem-solving skills and an organized approach to project management.
- Ability to communicate findings, write technical documents, and train others.
- Must be returning to school or graduating at the end of the internship term.
